Future Development for the Network

One thing that Ning lets you do is add RSS feeds to your network. Currently, I have added two: 1) Library Journal news and 2) Del.icio.us bookmarks for the "Library 2.0" tag.

While the former is probably familiar to most of you, the latter may not be. Basically, del.icio.us is a social bookmarking tool where people can share bookmarks publically and/or read the book marks of other people who have chosen to share their bookmarks.

New Look!

Thanks to Donna Bourne-Tyson, we have a new look. A nice foggy picture of Hubbards, NS is a great way to add an east coast flavour to the site. Thanks Donna!

That said, I don't want to be accused of being "Nova-centric." So, if you got a good picture you want to share, let me know and I'll create a banner out of it for a while. Or if you don't want me doing a hack job of your photo, why not just add it to your "photos" and share it to the front page.

Any Joomla Users out there?


If any of you follow my blog, you already know that I invite people to my test server to "play around" with Joomla, a popular open-source Content Management System. Basically, Joomla is a quick way to get alot of your functions typically desired in websites these days (RSS, blog-like posts, polls, other do-dads etc.).

It's also pretty neat that you can integrate MediaWiki into it as well.
